What: 1 hour seminar with question and answer on the most common running injuries and prevention strategies.

Who: Presented by David McHenry, DPT, director of P.A.C.E. and Dr. James Chesnutt a board certified specialist in Sports Medicine and is the Medical Director of the OHSU Sports Medicine Program.

Strength and Stability for Runners

Clinic Sun February 7th
The Athletes Lounge will present the “Strength and stability for runners” a clinic that incorporates explanations of the training methods to be used to develop core strength, pelvic stability, general strength and responsiveness specifically for runners and multi-sport athletes.
A short seminar on how to incorporate the training methods taught in this class will precede a hands on clinic where attendees will receive instruction on the training methods in small groups from the competitive runners from Run Portland. This event is presented by the Athletes Lounge and will offer giveaways and prizes from Athletes Lounge. Spring Marathon and Half Marathon Group Training Program - February 9th

Complete Running Programs and Runneng with return with the 3rd year of the spring marathon training program
What: 12 week group training program aimed at the Boston and Eugene Marathons and Eugene Half Marathon.
When: Beginning February 9th enrolled athletes are offered Tuesday and Saturday group training sessions for their marathon and half marathon program. Program continues until Tuesday April 27th.
-Tuesday - Speed session 6:00-7:00pm at Lincoln High School
-Saturday - Long run 8:00am-? at various locations
Coaches: Sean Coster and Jonathan Eng will provide coaching for this program. Click on their names for bio’s.
Athletes Receive: A customized 12 week training program outlining the details of their training for each day of the week based on their goals, past performances and recent training. Group training twice a week for speed sessions and long runs. Weekly Q and A with your coach via email or phone. Annual membership to Run Portland.
Cost: $300.00 for non Run Portland members, $250.00 for current members.

Strength and stability session- $125.00
This one hour session provides updated training recommendations for core stability, running technique drills, dynamic warm up and running specific strength training. Session includes take home materials and recommendations on implementation into your current training regimen. Includes video of your session for referencing exercise technique.
