Run Portland Summer Training
Summer is here and we are looking forward to some fun training and racing. Summer is the time to get ready for fall cross country and road races with increased mileage and longer intervals, tempo runs, and fartlek intervals. We would love to see Run Portland represented in some races over the summer and fall and have identified races we would like you to consider participating in.
As a club we will strive to have a presence at each of these events held locally with a tent and 'home base' for members to start from.
Attendance at these races is by no means mandatory. We are simply suggesting events members of our club will be participating in.
7/4 - Sauvies Island 1/2 Marathon
7/25 - Lacamas Lake Half marathon and 4 mile run (Camas, WA)
8/3 - The Duel Duel at Catlin Gable School
9/6 - Super Jock and Jill Half Marathon (Seattle, WA)
9/12 - Pints to Pasta 10K
9/19 - Race for the Cure
9/25 - NXN Pre Nationals - Portland Meadows
10/2 - Willamette Invitational XC (5k women, 8k men)
10/10 - Portland Marathon 8K, 1/2 marathon, and marathon
10/17 - Westmoreland XC
10/23 - Beaver Classic XC
10/30 - Fernhill Park XC
10/24 - Run Like Hell 1/2 marathon, 5K and 10K
11/13 - USATF Oregon State Meet XC - Pier Park
11/20 - USATF Regional XC - Clackamas Community College
12/11 - USATF Club National Cross Country Charlotte, NC
